One Busy Summer

I can't believe Summer is almost gone!  It went by in a haze of caffeine fueled morning drives, long days on the water, and late night tackle rigging/tying sessions.  I can't complain, I've got the best job there is!  I want to thank all of my clients for another successful Tarpon Season. For the most part we enjoyed great weather and lots of fish to shoot at.  August has been really good so far and the fishing should stay strong through Sept.  Fall will be here before we know it!

Spring 2015

Spring is all about Variety! As a guide, I like to chase everything that swims with a fly rod.  Spring never disappoints.

Louisiana Fly Fishing

I just finished my annual Fall season in Louisiana.  It was an interesting season to say the least.
I started in mid Sept. to adverse weather and water conditions.  We fished many new areas throughout the season and found lots of great water.  I brought both of my skiffs over and enjoyed working my skinny water skiff for several weeks. The fishing progressivly got better and ended with "Lights Out" fishing.  Thanks to everyone who joined me again this year.

Fly South and Sage SALT Fly Rods

Raz Reid came down for his annual Redfish trip with me in Oct. he brought along Jim Mauries owner of Fly South in Nashville TN.  Jim and Raz are great anglers and a pleasure to fish with.  Raz brought along several new rods this year.  I really liked the new SALT rods from Sage.http://vimeo.com/102659190 They are very light and easy to cast at a variety of distances. The biggest improvement was the ability to lift line at a distance and reposition with one back cast.  I have the 9 and 11wt. and look forward to fishing them this season.

North West Florida Fly Fishing
