Sr. is Back in Town

Tommy Ferguson Sr. was back in town for a couple days. We got out for his annual Spring trip on a cloudy & windy Spring day. We worked through the conditions and he caught a good bag of fish.  He hooked almost every species I put him on.  I look forward to fishing with him again in Sept.

Its a Monsta!

Last week I fished a father and son from New York.  Brian had just gotten married and got to slip away with his dad for a day to fish. I found a flat off the beaten path with a load of BOMBER sized Bull Reds. They were swimming down it like strings of Tarpon. We had a great bite for several hours. After every fish, they yelled; These things are Frigin Monstas! It was a great day with awesome clients.  Cool things happening in my backyard..

Who the Hell is Daryl Collins?

I got a big surprise on a charter last week.. Two of my good friends, Rusty Frazier and Phil came to stay in Seaside for the week.  This is a busy time of year for me and since I was booked up, Rusty and I had been discussing getting on the water after one of my charters. Unknowingly, they had booked me a month earlier under an alias (*see title).  Needless to say when they showed up at the ramp, it felt like a paid holiday!  Rusty and I guided together years ago and still teach the occasional Fly Fishing School together. Guiding these knuckle heads is a breeze.  Good Times with good friends!

Natt Meet Jack!

Natt came down from Maine seeking warmer weather and a Panhandle Redfish on fly.  We found a couple big schools of Reds right away. He stuck several but couldn't keep them buttoned.  He finally caught his stride as a hungry group of Jacks showed on the flat, daisy chaining on the surface.  We whacked several of them and a couple nice reds before the day was done.  This was Natts first time catching Jack Caravelle and a fish he want soon forget. To put it in his words, The power of these fish is incredible! Sorry for the poor quality of the pics. (iphone shots)

Musky Angler Finds New Addiction

The weather has finally warmed up and the Redfish are happy.  I fished Cal from Wisconsin on an awesome cloudless Spring day.  He had never caught a redfish or sight fished in saltwater. He posted solid numbers of Reds with a few trout to boot.  I think he has a new addiction!
