As April comes to a close, I am emailing client photos recapping some great days on the water. I enjoy variety in my my day and April is filled with options for fly anglers. We have been catching lots of nice Pompano along with Redfish, Snapper, Trout and Jacks. May should be excellent!

Fly Fishing with Patagonia
I had the pleasure of fishing Matt Sims, Southeastern rep. with Patagonia and his buddy Cal. I am a big fan of Patagonia and their products. All of the people I have been fortunate to meet from the company are solid individuals and avid outdoorsmen: Matt is no exception. We found several Redfish, Pompano, Bluefish, Jacks and Mackerel. Our fishing is getting really good right now with lots of variety showing up.

Spring Time Firsts
During Spring Break, it seems that I fish a lot of beginning saltwater anglers. This means many "firsts" for these guys. First Redfish, first saltwater fish on fly, first time sight fishing, first time on a flats boat, you get it.. It is just as rewarding teaching and helping these anglers develop their skills as guiding my veteran fly clientele. Congrats guys!
The weather is Beautiful and in the upper 70's right now. The fish are getting fired up! If your coming down to WaterColor, Seaside, Rosemary Beach, Destin or Panama City Beach, give me call and let's go get em'!

Cold Snap
We had a cold snap over the last couple days. Chilly start to the morning today. It hasn't slowed us down. Warmer weather is on the horizon. Next weeks weather looks awesome! I'm fishing out of Destin and Panama City right now. If your coming down to the beach give me a call, I still have some available dates.

Sunny and 75 on the Emerald Coast
Spring is finally upon us.. It's hard to beat the weather this week! With the rising temps fishing has started to break loose here on the Florida Panhandle. I have been dividing my fishing between Destin and Panama City. Fly fishing along the Emerald Coast is getting better everyday. It's only a matter of days before Pelagics (Mackeral, Cobia and Jacks) show up.

Scouting
Headed out midmorning to do a quick scouting trip in the bay looking for Bull Reds. Even though the temp was LOW we found some eager to eat a fly.
Our bays are in great shape right now. We should have some really good fishing for the remainder of winter.

"Redbones" on the LOW Tide
It's good to be back home in N. Florida chasing our local "redbones"in skinny water. These fish are some of my favorite and most rewarding flats fish that we pursue. The tides have been crazy low and the water air clear making the hunt for these shy critters very rewarding. I've been enjoying running my smaller skiff with clients, putting the sneak on these fish all week. They get extremely shallow putting their back out and tail frequently. You're not gonna catch any giants here but when conditions line up the shots are frequent and very visual. If you make it down this winter come along and let me share a really cool fly fishing experience.
