Something Around Every Corner

I am coming out of my cave to write an update today. I've spent the better part of the last 5 days sick with the Flu..  Not a great thing to have on Thanksgiving.  I may be the only person I know that lost weight this holiday. On a good note fishing continues to be strong. Fish with some great guys from NC. for the last 4 days. We had a good time picking on lots of big fish.

You never know what you will see out in the marsh. This Giant Water Buffalo swimming in open water was no exception.

November is off to a great start!

As I write this, it is blowing 35 outside and pouring down rain.  We cancelled the last couple of days fishing due to extreme weather conditions.  I'll be back on the water Wednesday. Looks like fair weather toward the end of the week. I've enjoyed meeting and fishing a few new clients this month as well as some old friends. When conditions are right we have experienced some exceptional "Big Fish" days.

Lenny and Steven enjoyed a couple days of great weather days and exceptional fishing.  Lots of big fish shots and several doubles.

My good friend Raz Reid (Southeastern Rep. for Sage, Tibor, Rio Umpqua and Fish Pond) and his friend Pat  joined me for 3 days last week.  We had lots of big fish around and he caught some gorgeous fish.  Raz brought along the new Sage Peacock rod from the BASS II series. This is a cool stick and worked perfectly for this style of fishing. Quick shots with big flys..

Joe and Andrew came down from Atlanta to enjoy 2 days of great weather and angling opportunities.

Louisiana 2012

The Fall season in Louisiana has started. I just spent a week working over there and back in Florida working for a few days.  Fishing was a little slow following several stormy days but we had shots and caught some great fish. It will only get better from here.

Feels like Fall

I'm loving the cooler morning temps. Feels like Fall is coming!  The North wind has our beaches calm and the False Albacore are here in force.  Tommy Ferguson and Tommy Jr. fished with me again a couple days ago.  It's was great to catch up with these guys.  We enjoyed some really good Albie fishing and added another species to their belts.
I'll be heading over to start guiding in Louisiana in a few days.  I'm looking forward to a few months of great fishing. Seasons following storms can be incredible and this looks like it will be a banner year. I still have a few days available. Let me know if you want in on the action!

We saw alot of Backing

The Keys

A few months ago my good friend Jason Siler and I took a road trip to the Keys.  We went to hang out and fish with a friend of ours Capt. Dave Yoder.  Dave lives on Key Largo and knows his way around the entirety of the Keys. We spent several days fishing from Key Largo all the way down to the Marquesas. We had an awesome time hanging out and catching a few fish along the way.  We even caught up with "The Bear" on Big Pine.  The weather was a challenge most days but we caught an awesome slick calm day out in the Marquesas. We caught Tarpon, cudas and got shots on tailing permit. A Fine day..
If your heading down to the Keys look him up. He is a great guy and a hell of a fisherman. You can find Dave at http://www.saltwaterflyguide.com

We caught up with Bear in Key West. Big guys like green flops..
